Chaos Mortal Rumors

New Chaos Mortal rumors have begun, or continue with the recent release of the new Dark Elf book. With the army list released in a White Dwarf I set aside my Chaos army as it was gutted beyond help. The new Chaos army book is in the future releases we shall see if they are worth taking out of the closet or wait until a codex that makes sense appears once again. Great looking codex and some of he miniatures are excellent still we shall see.

The Forsaken are half-spawn so to speak, heavily mutated warriors
basically. And the terrain thing is made up for in the beefing up of
the units. Chaos Warriors will have a 3+ save, 2 in combat and 2A.
Knights are meant to be getting significantly bolstered.

Then you should be happy as the Marks are getting an improvement,
and the Hounds are rumoured to not cause panic in the other units,
aswell as the universal army rule that the whole army may re-roll
failed psychology tests.

On top of that is the Gifts of the Gods table. Chosen roll on it at the start of
the game and get a different benefit depending on what they get, eg.
1 = frenzy, 2 = hatred, that sort of thing. Also characters get to roll
on it and gain extras benefits for each challenge they win. There is
also possibility that they may end up rising to Daemonhood by it or
upon failing turn into a Spawn, though this aspect of the table rules
is still rumour.

For those who want to know, the confirmed basic Chaos Warrior,
M4 WS5 BS4 S4 T4 W1 I5 A2 Ltd8 AS4+ 15pts

They are simply the old chosen now at only 15pts. As far as equipment
and rules go, all I know for definite is the obvious shield for 1pt.

Hellcannon will not be so powerfull anymore. I dont remember point cost but it will take 1 rare. Shoot like stonethrower but couse panic.

- Marks:
Khorne = Frenzy
Nurgle = -1 WS and BS for enemy when attacking or shooting the unit
Slaanesh = Itp, but ASF also for characters and I think Giants and Ogres.
Tzeentch = +1 ward save and +1 to cast if you are a wizard.

- Army rule IS re-roll panic.

- Gaze of the Gods table - you roll 2D6 in certain situations, which are:
Character wins a challenge (doesn’t include beating unit champs however)
Character kills a large target
Trolls regenerate 2 or more wounds

- Characters can get Chaos Gifts aswell as Magic Items (much like how the
Vampire Powers work)

- Shaggoths are rare, there is no character choice.

- War Alter is IN!!! Sort of like a Chariot mounted Cauldron of Blood if you
will in that it is a chariot type model but gives benefits similar to the cauldron
some of which I’ll look upon later.

- Next is me hanging my head in shame and defeat, Hrogarr, I am telling you
that your source was right about the Knights weapons (not about the steeds)
and I totally accept that you were right and I was wrong to question you.
Sorry again brother. So yea, that’s Knights at S5 with magical attacks, or
at S6 with non-magical attacks, lance replaces the magic weapon.

On top of that, Chosen may roll at the start of the game and the War Alter
allows one unit per turn roll, as one of its benefits.

- Horsemen and Giants can now be marked, and Ogres can be marked too.
Oh, and Ogres have Chaos Armour

S4 + magic weapon that confers +1S = S5 magical attacks
as stated in the post. The magic weapon is standard! But, if opting for lances
(which I must admit I was wrong about a few days ago, sorry mate)must
replace the magic weapon, so as I stated in the post on Warseer, S5
magical, or S6 on the charge non-magical. I think it makes not taking the
lances a no-brainer.
